Mitch Rayborn has been in ministry for 27 years in many different settings as a concert artist, worship leader and speaker. Mitch ministers to groups of all ages and sizes, and encourages the body of Christ while preaching and teaching.
The venues change, but the message remains the same.
Mitch was born in 1962 in Hattiesburg , Mississippi , moved early in his life, and was raised in a Christian home near Atlanta, GA. Mitch received Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at the age of 9. God has been maturing him for an instrument in ministry ever since. He returned to Mississippi to attend William Carey Bible College in 1984. It was during that time that God began using Mitch in vocational ministries. He began singing and ministering at many events and venues in the area. With each opportunity, it became clear that God's hand was on Mitch's life in a special way. Just before graduation from college, Mitch responded to God's call to serve in full-time Christian ministry . After graduation, Mitch formed Real-Time Ministries, moved to Nashville, TN , and began doing concerts and leading worship for conferences and camps.
In 1985, Mitch teamed up with some incredibly talented people such as Gary Driskell and Tom Hemby, and recorded his first recorded project and has since recorded 5 additional projects. The most current CD, entitled "Heart & Soul" was released in April 2004.
In 1986 God brought a new blessing to his life and ministry as Mitch met and married Rebekah Moore. God has used them greatly as a team to bless and minister to many people. Their son Evan was born in 1989, and daughter Abbey in 1992. Mitch traveled full-time in concert ministry for 10 years. He also served several churches part-time as worship leader during that time.
In 1994, God called Mitch in a new direction of ministry as he joined the pastoral staff at Westside Church in Omaha, NE. Mitch became Associate Pastor at Westside in 2000 where he preached in a weekly rotation with the senior pastor. In 2003 Mitch served as Interim Pastor for 10 months in the absence of the senior pastor. Also that year Mitch responded to God's leading as he accepted a position at Crossgates Baptist Church in Brandon, Mississippi as Associate Pastor.
God made it very clear that He had been preparing Mitch for awhile to become Senior Pastor and in the fall of 2005 Mitch became pastor of Grace Fellowship Church in Omaha, NE. Grace Fellowship was a new church start with Mitch as their first pastor. Mitch also serves as Worship Leader and he is able to use the talents that God has given him. The many years of ministry and the many different venues of ministry have afforded Mitch a unique blend of gifts as a worship leader and speaker.
Mitch continues to do concerts and worship events as time and opportunities become open. God continues to use Mitch in a wonderful passionate ministry of teaching and singing whether at home or away. |
